Toshiba made an attempt to promote October 23 as National “No Print day.”  Now that “No Print Day” has officially been cancelled, we would like to share with you that October 23 is now National Print Day.  The reason for this special occasion is to officially recognize that print is not only environmentally conscious and continually to strives toward environmental excellence, but also to display that  print is a powerful medium of communication both in our day-to-day lives and in our marketing mix.

For your Friday we will leave you with a few fast facts regarding the environmental factors of the print and paper industry.

• Paper is a not only a renewable resource, but it is also produced with over 60 percent of recycled materials.
• For every tree harvested for production, three trees are planted in its place; leaving our forests larger today, than 100 years ago.
• Two-thirds of the paper consumed in the U.S. is recycled.
• Paper requires little power or energy – other than the light bulb or sunlight used to read it.  Conversely, digital technology, such as data servers, produced twice the amount of energy used to produce a printed product.
