A Unique Path to Security Printing Excellence

Steve Craig brings decades of experience to Komori’s security press division, including leadership roles at the Bank of England and De La Rue. Since joining Komori in 2019, Craig has leveraged Komori’s renowned “Kando” philosophy—exceeding customer expectations—to grow the company’s share of a market once dominated by a single incumbent. Today, Komori security presses deliver more than 200 offset, intaglio, and numbering lines to 38 countries, producing the world’s most trusted banknotes, passports, and secure documents.

Meeting Tomorrow’s Security Challenges

Under Craig’s leadership, Komori is investing ¥20 billion in its 7th Medium-Term Management Plan to enhance machine precision, remote support capabilities, and global after-sales service. Komori is also applying its advanced security-printing know-how to next-generation passport and ID card presses, as well as developing digital inkjet systems capable of unique per-sheet security features.

From Tokyo to Texas: A Shared Vision

“Working collaboratively with government agencies worldwide has been key to our success,” said Craig. “With support from our Tsukuba and Yamagata facilities, we’re committed to delivering innovative, reliable solutions that protect identities and maintain trust.”
