New York’s Paid Sick Leave: Are You Sure You Have It Right? Free Virtual Workshop

When

01/07/2021
12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

It’s here. After nearly a year of speculation and often misinformation, New York’s Paid Sick Leave law is effective January 1, 2021. The State’s guidance and regulations fail to answer many of the most important questions that employers have regarding this new law and how it will operate. Even after months of policy drafting and in some cases union negotiation many employers are still not sure they have “got it right”.

Join us at noon on January 7, 2021, for a virtual, interactive discussion about the requirements of this new law and how you can comply with its requirements without creating staffing shortages and while controlling costs. We will also focus on the interaction between this law, other existing State laws and federal laws related to COVID-19 and other disabilities.

Specific topics that will be addressed during the workshop include:

  • Who is subject to the new law?
  • How much leave time is required?
  • Who is eligible for leave and when?
  • Can the new requirements be satisfied by an employer’s existing PTO policy?
  • What are the recordkeeping requirements

Bring your questions as well.
