Quality Assurance Manager

Employee will be responsible for monitoring the production process and identifying non-conformances to Ashton Potter and customers’ quality specifications.  Must be able to communicate with production operators,  management and suppliers on all quality issues, including documentation, product disposition, process improvement and applicable procedures. Some interaction with customers will also be required.  Also responsible for ensuring that all customer products are secure and fully accountable at all times.  Use various methods to track exact quantities and location, including work in process, of all product and goods of value.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.                   Understand customer specifications and requirements to develop effective quality control plans, processes and procedures.

2.                   Review and devise (as needed) specifications for products or processes.

3.                   Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance through internal testing, sampling, COCs and COAs.

4.                   Oversee the inspection of all products to identify deviations from quality standards.

5.                   Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements .

6.                   Ensure non-conforming products are quarantined, and provide disposition as to handling.

7.                   Schedule and ensure QA coverage at subcontractors.

8.                   Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.

9.                   Perform root cause analysis and provide corrective actions.

10.               Investigate and respond to customer complaints.

11.               A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach.

12.               Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

13.               In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.

14.               To ensure that employees working in production are aware of quality requirements and are properly trained.

15.               Supply Chain oversight and claim resolution.

16.               Develop SOP/WI as needed and keep updated.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise inspectors, technicians and other staff and provide guidance, training and feedback.  Communicate with independent laboratories.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

•                     Minimum 4 year degree

•                     Solid experience in Quality Assurance/Control and Accountability

•                     Print industry experience

•                     Knowledge of 9001 and 14001

•                     Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience

•                     Experience with Vision / Inspection Systems

•                     Technical writing of Work Instructions, SOP’s and Corrective Actions

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

•                     Excellent written and oral communication skills

•                     Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees.

•                     Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis / statistical methods.

•                     Proficient in MS Office.
